due to a change in circumstances, tullykat alley
will close its doors as of today :-(

I know you will be very sad, as I am too

Unfortunately I will need to close the door
to my sewing room and put my gorgeous little hobby to rest
I have returned to the workforce and now need to concentrate on producing an income, rather than soft toys

I wish you all the success and would like to thank you for supporting my little business……and hope to one day be back in front of my trusty machine, stitching and stuffing !!!

Hi,

I'm having so much fun reading everyone's suggestions for the new "little hippie"......she will make her debut very soon......in the meantime.........I really must share something funny!!!

On Friday morning I decided to make chocolate mousse for friends of mine and made a couple of different batches......I spent quite some time preparing chocolate cases and finding gorgeous little "bowls" to put the mousse in........my daughters had spent quite some time eating the mixture from beaters as I went..........my girls are little and so licking the beater is very exciting.....and messy!!!!!......It was nearly time to go......the mousse was setting in the fridge, the girls all nice and clean were waiting in the playroom...........I thought, "I've got time to change, and then we should go".............hmmmm........that was my mistake!!!!!.......yep you guessed it.....

It's been 12 months since the "little poppettes" made their debut at the Warrandyte Market....and this weekend we returned to celebrate with a little party and lollie bags....(silly me forgot to take photos of the day)

I was so excited when the first person to stop at my stall just happened to be the same lady that stopped at my stall last March and bought the first poppette " Pippi Jane "..........

I recognised her straight away......it really was a nice start to the day........and a great way to celebrate Pippi Janes' birthday!!!!!

Here is another way to celebrate..........

I'm going to gloat just a little bit.........a lady stopped at my stall on the weekend exclaiming, " I found them"...... she then rang her girlfriend and described the fabric the 'little poppettes' were wearing........when she finished her phone call she told me that her girlfriend had sent her to the market with a picture she'd sketched on a small piece of paper (right down to the detail of the hair) and asked her to buy two little poppettes.........!!!!

That's when you know that what you are doing is right .......... I love my "little poppettes"

and it seems so do others!!!! Thank you

yesterday was our wedding anniversary...........

not only did I forget,

I didnt even give it a thought leading up to the special day :-(

...how bad did I feel when after seeing the roses on the bench.......it STILL didn't register......!!!

I asked my husband, "WHY DID YOU BUY ROSES ?"

he said, " You've forgotten havent you?"

My daughter rang me and said, "I bought you something today mum, that you can take to the market with you"....."Don't tell me what it is, you know I love surprises!!"
"Guess", she said. :-) of course I couldn't guess, and thankfully she didn't tell me.
Later that day, when she arrived home, she was so excited. I'm sure you'll agree, it's the perfect addition to my stall.... on the top of my marquee is a dragonfly and the font just happens to be the same as my name.....tonight Ashton came home with another little rock with the word "laugh" and a butterfly!!!!!

If anyone ventured out last Sunday in Melbourne they would have needed to be tied to an anchor to not get blown away!!!!! The weather was unbelievably bad. Thankfully or unfortunately (whichever way you look at it) I was in bed with a tummy bug......and hence missed the day completely. Sadly, I had to send a message that I could not attend the Flemington Market that day. ........and I love my markets.
Imagine my surprise (when after keeing my breakfast down on Monday morning) I found an email from Craft Markets Australia indicating they were going to re-schedule the market for the following weekend!!!!!..........Now this just does not happen....to re-schedule a market is a huge undertaking, both financially and logistically.......so here is my big thankyou to both my universe and Craft Markets Australia.............special things really do happen.
So if anyone is in Melbourne next Sunday 23rd August, drop by the market at Flemington Racecourse and enjoy a day of music , food and fabulous handmade crafts......you'll find me in the first row.....see you soon :-)

What a beautiful morning it was for my first trip to Lardner Park. The forecast was for a wet and windy day, but as it turned out, the sun smiled and threw a grin on the faces of those who came to buy treasures at the market. I met people visiting from Glen Waverly, Beaconsfield and even stall holders from as far away as Geelong. It really is a social day..........next time I'm hoping to be outside to enjoy the sunshine, but as "murphy's law" will have it, it will be exactly that day that it will rain!!!!!......The countryside really is lovely, if you get a chance in September, (next market in Lardner Park) go for a drive.......you wont even need a cut lunch, the yummiest calamari, and tasty homemade lemonade can be found amongst many other food stalls. Of course I'd love you to stop by and say hi. The photos below are images from my stall.....enjoy your day :-)

I had already ordered the invitations and decided on what kind of cake I'd make......imagine my delight when I opened the parcel to find these beautiful handmade cards! Here are photos of my 40th birthday. If you asked anyone who knows me, the answer would be ,"yes, she loves dress up theme parties". I do, I absolutely love dress up parties and have been getting in to some sort of costume since I was at primary school. I even remember dressing up our little sister as a cat for a pet competition.......she won second prize!!!!
In this group of photos, I've superimposed guests onto cartoon backgrounds. The night was a lot of fun....and of course.....there was only one Queen............off with her head!!!!!

I married my husband in 2006 in what was a fabulous "themed" wedding. Our guests were invited to a Masquerade Ball with the celebrant dressed as the Phantom of the Opera!!!

My husband (dressed in military uniform) duelled the phantom for my hand, and won!!!....but of course he did...lol :-)

I’d like to use "blogger" as a way of letting people know about my little business and to give more insight into the girl behind the machine……..as it seems that's the thing to do these days.....and I check out everyones blog and they all look so great....... so what I think will happen is when I get an idea I'd like to share regarding my craft business, I'll post it, otherwise I think I'll tell stories...the latest story I'm telling is about my husband....but maybe I should start at the beginning......well maybe not the beginning, beginning........but at least further back than last week.......

Have you watched a young childs’ eyes light up with sheer delight when they spot something that makes them happy? It’s magical.
The clock stops, the room disappears, there is no noise and the only thing you see is the smile, and for a split second you’re caught up in a moment of wonderment.
Magic has happened and that warm fuzzy feeling is called love.
It wasn’t so long ago we were dragging our favourite toy around the house and dressing it up to be Mr Watchamacallit in our imaginary day at the zoo where the big creatures fly down from planet Mars to help the princess fairy get ready for the ball. We’ve just forgotten what it feels like. Caught up in a world of gadgets and gizmos, its nice to get back to the basics.

I love creating things, any thing really, and lately I've been creating soft dolls. Not the normal kind, mine are a little unusual.....but oh so cute.........and that's what everyone says when they see me at the market....."they're soooo cute"!......just a little bit is my reply ;-)
Before the dolls, was aprons, before that I was trying my hand at the love of my life, painting......some would say they were great....I always thought they were a work in progress...the thing I loved most about painting was I'd get lost in the moment.........a little bit of heaven in my own living room!!.....now my love is sewing....which is tully{kat} alley
